I just purchased show fleece yesterday while on my trip in the UK (I’m still here). This is your opportunity to buy Leicester Longwool (aka English Leciecester) hogget SHOW CHAMPION fleece. Look at the quality of these beautiful animals in full wool! My friends raise them and show the across the UK where they are almost always Champions with their top notch bloodlines. For those of you who aren’t familiar with English Leicester, it’s a long wool and in the same category as Wensleydale and Teeswater. It’s extraordinarily lustrous, VERY VERY LONG STAPLED reaching past 14 inches and tolerates dyeing very very well. Unlike hogget Teeswater and Wensleydale LONG fleeces, English Leicester doesn’t felt as easily during the dyeing process. UK EL is one of my most favorite breeds and this fleece is very long; impressively long (as pictured on sheep). This is a pre-order and ships when I return… expect shipment around July 1-5th. Expect UK fleeces to be uncoated, with occasional bramble (which I try to find and remove). Some of the locks can be slightly cotted because of the length. This fleece has been on the sheep for 18 months and cotting usually releases during washing/dyeing. I try to remove anything I think isn’t easily useable. Please don’t purchase if you’re unfamiliar with the idiosyncrasies of raw wool. Shipping within the US is included.
