Wensleydale Sheep, Gotland Sheep, Babydoll Southdowns, Namasta Farms

Our sheep program focuses on rare breeds, specifically, Wensleydale Longwools and the Gotland. In addition to these two luxurious wool producing breeds, Namaste Farms also runs small flocks of Black Welsh Mountain (BWM) and Shetlands (to cross with Gotlands).

WENSLEYDALE LONGWOOLS
The original Namaste Farms Wensleydale flock was built on animals acquired from the foundation breeders of the North American Wensleydale Sheep Association (NAWSA). Our focus has been to develop sheep which have a finer, more purled fleece with good luster. The flock now consists of registered 82% to 97% sheep of Wensleydale blood.

GOTLAND
The Namaste Farms Gotland flock originated from a single Border Leicester/Gotland ewe. We expanded our program by breeding to high quality Wensleydale and Shetland ewes to produce our first F1 crosses. Our goal has been to raise Gotland sheep with the most highly desirable fleeces.

OLDe ENGLISH BABYDOLL SOUTHDOWNS A docile and personable breed of sheep. The Babydoll’s popularity has increased as eco-friendly methods of weed abatement are needed. They are a favorite of children because of their inquisitive nature, stout bodies and always “smiling”grins.
