ANGORA GOATS
With its high affinity for dyes, our mohair produces colors that are unmatched in clarity and vibrance. We are proud to offer fleeces with extremely long staple lengths. Fleeces with over an 8 inch staple length make strong lace weight yarns and gorgeous doll hair and Santa beards. Namaste Farms is proud to tout owning and showing the 2009 CAGBA National Grand Champion Goat; Cloudspun Samba. Her victory was largely due to her exceptionally magnificent fleece. Growing fleeces with long length and extreme luster is a difficult and time consuming process that is accomplished using a combination of great genetics, quality nutrition and constant fleece management (to prevent matting). PYGORA GOATS
Namaste often works the fiber of Pygora goats into exotic, novelty yarns. We breed for 'A" fleece Pygoras which grow fleece similar to mohair. One of the main differences between "A" fleece Pygora and mohair is that Pygora fiber has a unique "halo" effect reminiscent of Angora rabbit. The hat pictured was made from Pygora (spun from the lock) and is representative of the beauty that Pygora fiber has in knitted items (View Knitwear). Pygora goats are the perfect stock animals for children to show and to own because they are small, sweet natured and very easy to handle.
