The name Namaste Farms was given to the Redding Ranch as a reflection of the way they feel about their animals. Located in Southern California’s Temecula Valley, Namaste Farms is dedicated to the ethical raising of superior fiber animals. While many breeders respect their animals only as livestock, Namaste Farms regard theirs in an intrinsic manner as well. They believe it is possible to not only respect them for their production values; but also for the values they possess which are not harvestable. The sheep program focuses on rare breeds, specifically, Wensleydale Longwools and Gotlands. In addition to these two luxurious wool producing breeds, Namaste Farms also runs small flocks of Black Welsh Mountain and Shetlands (to cross with Gotlands). Due to the amazing fiber of the Angora goat, Namaste Farms also owns a bevy of high quality Angora Goats (both colored and white) as well as a few cashmere producing Pygora goats. |
